Sets count as separate pieces: for example, a table with six chairs counts as seven items.
For HDB residents in the stated Town Council area; commercial and private properties are generally excluded.
1.Describe every item accurately; a set can count as several pieces.
2.Dismantle oversized furniture yourself if the council requires it. Workers generally do not dismantle items or enter your flat.
3.Put items outside your unit only on the confirmed collection day and keep the escape route clear.
4.Use an authorised e-waste route for regulated electrical items if your Town Council cannot accept them.
How free HDB bulky-item removal works
Singapore Town Councils provide a complimentary collection service to help HDB residents dispose of ordinary movable household furniture and appliances responsibly. The service is not an unlimited moving or renovation service. Most councils accept no more than three movable items per household each month and need two or three working days to schedule conservancy workers.
Rules differ by council. Collection days and hours vary, some councils charge for extra accepted pieces, and several exclude fragile, very heavy or oversized objects. Built-in cabinets, renovation debris and house-moving loads are almost universally excluded. Always describe the item accurately and check that it can pass through your doorway and lift.
This finder links directly to each council’s official service page or form. It is a directory, not the booking provider. The official Town Council decides whether an item is safe and within its workers’ capacity, and may reject a request. If a rule or available slot has changed, the official booking page takes priority.
Is HDB bulky item removal free?
It is generally free for the first three accepted movable items per HDB household each month. Some councils charge for additional items, while others require a private arrangement.
Will Town Council workers dismantle furniture?
Generally no. Built-in furniture and dismantling work are excluded. Oversized movable furniture may need to be dismantled before collection.
When should I place items outside?
Only on the confirmed collection day, shortly before the scheduled time, without blocking the corridor, stairs, lift lobby or escape route.
