Singapore SRS Contribution Calculator
Check the yearly SRS contribution cap, remaining room, tax-relief amount and an estimated tax saving for Singapore Citizens, PRs and foreigners.
The yearly maximum depends on status at contribution. Foreigners must declare status to the SRS operator each year.
Cash contributions in a calendar year generally qualify for SRS relief in the following Year of Assessment (YA).
Cash you (or your employer on your behalf) plan to put into SRS this calendar year.
Year-to-date cash already paid into the SRS account. Leave 0 if you have not contributed yet.
Earned income, CPF, parent, child and other reliefs you expect to claim, excluding SRS. Used only to apply the $80,000 personal-relief cap.
If you enter this, tax saving is the difference in resident tax before and after the SRS relief. Leave blank to use a marginal rate instead.
Used only when chargeable income is blank. Pick the IRAS resident band you expect to sit in.
Optional balance projection
Illustrative only. SRS investments vary; this uses a constant annual return and end-of-year contributions equal to this year’s qualifying amount.

Relief Year of Assessment: YA 2027 (contribution year 2026)
Figures use the IRAS yearly SRS maximums ($15,300 Citizen/PR, $35,700 foreigner) and the $80,000 personal-relief cap. Tax saving is an estimate using resident rates from YA 2024 onwards. This is not tax advice.
About this Singapore SRS contribution calculator
The Supplementary Retirement Scheme (SRS) is a voluntary scheme run with three bank operators — DBS, OCBC and UOB — so individuals can save for retirement on top of CPF. Cash contributions that stay in the account until year-end generally reduce chargeable income in the following Year of Assessment, subject to the yearly SRS maximum and the overall personal income tax relief cap of $80,000.
This page answers a practical question: how much can I still put in this year, how much of that is likely to count as SRS relief, and roughly how much tax might that save? It is built for Singapore tax residents who already have, or are opening, a single SRS account. You can only have one SRS account at a time.
The yearly maximums published by IRAS, and still shown on the SRS contributions page as of October 2026, are $15,300 for Singapore Citizens and Singapore Permanent Residents, and $35,700 for foreigners who declare foreigner status to their operator for that year. The higher foreigner cap reflects that foreigners generally do not receive CPF contribution relief in the same way. If residency changes during the year, the operator recomputes the cap on a pro-rata basis — this calculator does not model mid-year status changes.
Tax saving here is an estimate. If you enter chargeable income before this SRS relief, the tool subtracts resident tax after the relief from resident tax before it, using the same YA 2024 onwards bands as the income tax calculator on this site. If you enter only a marginal rate, the estimate is relief × rate. Neither method files a return, applies every IRAS condition, or replaces myTax Portal.
How to use it
- Choose residency. Citizen or PR uses the $15,300 cap. Foreigner uses $35,700, which still requires a yearly declaration to the SRS operator.
- Choose the calendar year of the contribution. Money paid in 2026 is generally considered for YA 2027 relief. Operator cut-off dates in late December can be earlier than 31 December — confirm with your bank.
- Enter the amount you plan to contribute and, if you have already paid in this year, the year-to-date total.
- Optionally enter other personal reliefs (CPF, earned income, parent, child, and so on) so the $80,000 cap can reduce the SRS slice that actually cuts tax.
- Optionally enter chargeable income before this SRS relief, or pick a marginal rate, to see an estimated tax saving.
- Read the cap, qualifying amount, remaining room, relief, and estimate. The optional projection below is a simple growth illustration, not an investment recommendation.
Key terms and concepts
SRS account. A single account with DBS, OCBC or UOB. Opening more than one is an offence. Contributions must be in cash.
Yearly maximum. $15,300 (Citizen/PR) or $35,700 (foreigner) per calendar year, as published by IRAS. The operator enforces the cap; excess contributions can attract penalties if a wrong residency declaration was made.
SRS relief. For a tax resident, relief in YA N+1 is generally the amount contributed in year N that was not withdrawn in the same year, and that was not made while the account was suspended at 31 December.
Personal-relief cap. From YA 2018, all personal reliefs together — including SRS — cannot exceed $80,000 for a YA. IRAS will not refund SRS contributions if you are already at the cap.
Year of Assessment. Income of calendar year 2025 is assessed in YA 2026. SRS paid in 2025 is the usual source of YA 2026 SRS relief.
Tax resident. SRS relief is for tax residents of that YA. Spending 183 days or more in Singapore in a calendar year is the usual foreigner test; confirm the IRAS tests that apply to you.
Withdrawals. Investment returns are not taxed while money stays in SRS. At statutory retirement age prevailing when you first contributed, 50% of a withdrawal is generally taxable. Early withdrawals can be fully taxable plus a 5% penalty, with exceptions. This page does not calculate withdrawal tax.
Common use cases
- Checking how much SRS room is left after a mid-year top-up.
- Comparing the Citizen/PR cap with the foreigner cap before declaring status to the operator.
- Seeing whether a planned $15,300 contribution still helps if other reliefs already use most of the $80,000 cap.
- Estimating cash-flow: contribution versus a rough tax saving at your band.
- Pairing this page with the income tax calculator and CPF contribution calculator when planning year-end tax.
- Sketching a multi-year SRS balance with a constant assumed return — not a forecast of any product.
Examples
Example 1 — Citizen, full 2026 cap, chargeable income $80,000 before SRS. Cap $15,300. If nothing has been contributed yet, the full $15,300 can go in. With no other reliefs entered, SRS relief is $15,300. Resident tax on $80,000 is $3,350; on $64,700 it is $2,279. Estimated saving is $1,071 (the 7% band), labelled as an estimate. Relief is considered for YA 2027.
Example 2 — Foreigner, full cap. Cap $35,700. A $35,700 contribution, with room left and personal-relief headroom, can count as $35,700 of SRS relief for the following YA if you are a tax resident.
Example 3 — Year-to-date already $10,000 (Citizen/PR). Remaining room is $5,300. A further planned $10,000 only $5,300 qualifies; $4,700 is over the yearly maximum.
Example 4 — Other reliefs already $70,000. Personal-relief headroom is $10,000. Even a full $15,300 SRS contribution would only reduce chargeable income by $10,000 under the overall cap. IRAS does not refund the extra contribution.
Important notes
Not tax advice. Eligibility, operator cut-off dates, pro-rata caps, same-year withdrawals, suspended accounts, and tax clearance for foreigners and PRs leaving Singapore all sit with IRAS and your SRS operator. Confirm on the official pages before you contribute.
Official references (IRAS, October 2026): SRS contributions and tax relief; personal tax reliefs and the $80,000 cap. The Ministry of Finance also publishes an SRS booklet.
Caps in this tool. $15,300 / $35,700 are the yearly maximums published on the IRAS SRS page at verification (4 Oct 2026). They are not invented. If IRAS changes the table, this page must be updated.
Relief timing. Contribute by 31 December of the calendar year, or earlier if your bank sets a cut-off, to be considered for the following YA. Employer contributions on your behalf are taxable remuneration and still go toward the yearly maximum.
No refund if you contribute and then find other reliefs already fill the $80,000 cap.
Projection assumes a constant annual return and the same qualifying contribution each year. Actual SRS products can lose money.
Frequently asked questions
What is the SRS contribution cap in Singapore?
IRAS publishes a yearly maximum of $15,300 for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents, and $35,700 for foreigners who declare foreigner status to their SRS operator for that year. Verified against the IRAS SRS contributions page on 4 October 2026.
Which Year of Assessment does a 2026 SRS contribution affect?
Contributions in calendar year 2026 are generally considered for SRS relief in YA 2027, if you are a tax resident for that YA and other IRAS conditions are met. 2025 contributions are the usual source of YA 2026 SRS relief.
Does the $80,000 personal-relief cap apply to SRS?
Yes. From YA 2018, all personal reliefs for a YA — including SRS — cannot exceed $80,000. There is no refund of SRS contributions if you are already at the cap.
How is the estimated tax saving calculated?
If you enter chargeable income before this SRS relief, the estimate is resident tax on that income minus resident tax after subtracting the relief that can count. If you enter only a marginal rate, the estimate is relief times that rate. Both are labelled as estimates.
Do foreigners get a higher SRS cap?
Yes, $35,700 versus $15,300, but only after the yearly foreigner declaration to the operator. Wrongly declaring foreigner status when you are a Citizen or PR can lead to penalties on excess contributions.
Can I open more than one SRS account?
No. You may have only one SRS account at a time. Opening accounts with more than one operator is an offence.
Will IRAS give me relief automatically?
For ordinary filing, SRS operators transmit contribution information and relief is usually allowed without a separate claim. Foreigners and PRs seeking tax clearance must obtain the operator’s tax-clearance SRS statement.
What if I withdraw in the same year I contribute?
IRAS generally does not allow SRS relief on the amount contributed and withdrawn in the same year. This calculator assumes the contribution stays in the account.
Is this the official IRAS calculator?
No. IRAS and the Ministry of Finance publish the rules. This page applies those published caps and the personal-relief cap for a quick private estimate. It is not tax advice.
Are numbers uploaded?
No. Caps and tax bands are in the page. The calculation runs in your browser.
