About this Singapore Baby Bonus calculator

Baby Bonus is the cash gift plus Child Development Account (CDA) support for Singapore Citizen children. From 18 February 2025 the amounts include a higher CDA First Step for third and later children (Large Families First Step) and higher matching caps at higher birth orders.

First child: $11,000 cash, $5,000 First Step, matching cap $4,000. If parents deposit the full $4,000, government CDA is $9,000 and total government support is $20,000 ($11k cash + $5k First Step + $4k match). Second child keeps $11k / $5k but the match cap rises to $7,000. Third and fourth: $13k cash, $10k First Step, $9k match cap. Fifth and later: $13k / $10k / $15k cap.

First Step lands in the CDA without a parent deposit. Matching only happens when you save. Cash gift is paid in stages under MSF rules, not as one lump on the due date — this page shows scheme totals, not the exact payday calendar.

Non-citizen children and births before 18 February 2025 use older tables. This tool is the post-18 Feb 2025 citizen table only.

Run the numbers in the browser, then confirm on the MSF / LifeSG Baby Bonus pages before opening a CDA.

How to use it

  1. Choose birth order for this child.
  2. Enter how much you will deposit into the CDA (can be $0).
  3. Read cash, First Step, matching, and total government support.

Key terms and concepts

Cash gift is paid to eligible parents in scheduled tranches.

CDA First Step is a government deposit into the Child Development Account. Third-and-later children receive the Large Families amount ($10,000).

Matching is dollar-for-dollar on parent deposits up to the cap.

CDA balance after a deposit is First Step + parent deposit + match (not shown as a fifth card, but used in the engine).

Common use cases

  • Deciding how much to save into a first child’s CDA to hit the $4,000 cap.
  • Comparing second versus third child government support.
  • Explaining Large Families First Step ($10,000) to relatives.
  • Budgeting infant care fees against CDA funds.

Frequently asked questions

How much is Baby Bonus for a first child from 18 Feb 2025?

Third and fourth share $13k/$10k/$9k. Fifth and later raise the match cap to $15,000.

Can I use this for a 2024 birth?

No. Use the pre-18 Feb 2025 table on MSF.

Are figures stored?

No. The calculation runs in your browser.
