About this Singapore PSLE score calculator
The Primary School Leaving Examination no longer uses T-scores. Each subject is mapped to an Achievement Level (AL) from 1 to 8, and the four ALs are added to a score between 4 and 32. Lower is better. Secondary posting still uses this aggregate together with choice order and other posting rules.
MOE bands: AL1 is 90 and above, AL2 85–89, AL3 80–84, AL4 75–79, AL5 65–74, AL6 45–64, AL7 20–44, AL8 19 and below. Worked example: 91, 86, 80 and 75 become AL1 + AL2 + AL3 + AL4 = score 10.
Parents often need this during prelim season, not only after the real paper. A prelim set of 78 / 88 / 82 / 70 is AL4+AL2+AL3+AL5 = 14, which is a different conversation from “average 79.5%”. The AL steps are not linear — a one-mark slip from 90 to 89 costs a full level.
This page does not predict school posting, COP, or affiliation. It only turns marks into ALs and a sum. Foundation subjects use a different AL mapping (AL6–AL8) that is not modelled here — enter standard-subject marks only.

Key terms and concepts

Posting also depends on school choices, vacancies and tie-breakers not modelled here.

Examples
Example 1 — 91, 86, 80, 75. ALs 1, 2, 3, 4. Score 10.
Example 2 — four 90s. Score 4.
Example 3 — 89 in one subject, 90 in the others. 2+1+1+1 = 5.
Example 4 — 44 in one subject. That subject is AL7, not AL6.

Foundation subjects are not on this table.
Higher Mother Tongue does not add a fifth AL to this aggregate.

How is the PSLE score calculated?
Each of four subjects maps to AL1–AL8 from the mark. Add the four ALs. The total is 4 to 32.
What marks are AL1?
90 to 100.
What is 91 + 86 + 80 + 75?
AL1, AL2, AL3, AL4. Score 10.
Is a lower score better?
Yes. 4 is the best possible aggregate.
Does this include Higher Mother Tongue?
No. The posting aggregate is four subjects.
Are AL bands the same every year?
MOE has used these raw-mark bands since the AL system began. Confirm on MOE if a year-specific note appears.
What is AL8?
19 marks or below on a standard subject.
Can I enter 100?
Yes. That is AL1.
Does this tell me which secondary school I get?
No. It only totals ALs.
