CPF Retirement Sum Calculator (BRS / FRS / ERS)

See the Basic, Full and Enhanced Retirement Sums for the year you turn 55, compare them with your OA/SA/RA savings, and view published CPF LIFE Standard Plan payout examples for the 2026 cohort.

BRS and FRS are fixed by this cohort year. ERS is the calendar-year ceiling for members already 55 or older — this page shows the ERS published for the same year.

At 55, SA and some OA are used to form the Retirement Account up to FRS. Enter the balances you can set aside, not investment forecasts.

About this CPF retirement sum calculator

The existing CPF contribution calculator on this site answers how much of a wage goes to OA, SA and MA. This page answers a different question: how much should sit in the Retirement Account when you turn 55, and how far today’s balances are from those targets.

CPF Board publishes three sums. The Basic Retirement Sum (BRS) is meant to support basic living needs excluding rent. The Full Retirement Sum (FRS) is twice BRS. The Enhanced Retirement Sum (ERS) is the extra you may top up to for higher CPF LIFE payouts — from 2025 it is four times BRS and it rises each calendar year even after you have turned 55.

Members turning 55 in 2026 have BRS $110,200, FRS $220,400 and ERS $440,800. CPF’s worked illustration for that cohort on the Standard Plan is about $950 / $1,780 / $3,440 a month from age 65 if those amounts are set aside at 55 (assuming 4% interest). Those payouts are examples, not your personal quote.

If you turn 55 in 2025 the BRS is $106,500; in 2027 it is $114,100. This tool does not invent later cohorts. Housing pledges, property charge, and transferring a spouse’s savings can change how much cash you must set aside to meet BRS.

How to use it

  1. Choose the year you turn (or turned) 55.
  2. Enter combined OA + SA + RA you can dedicate to retirement.
  3. Read each target, shortfall and progress bar.
  4. Treat 2026 monthly figures as illustrations only.

Key terms and concepts

Retirement Account (RA) is created at 55 from SA and OA, up to FRS (or BRS with a property pledge/charge).

Cohort BRS/FRS never change after you turn 55.

ERS ceiling can rise in later calendar years for top-ups.

CPF LIFE converts RA savings into monthly payouts from 65–70.

Common use cases

  • Checking whether $80,000 of SA still leaves a BRS gap at 55 in 2026.
  • Planning cash top-ups (and tax relief) toward FRS or ERS.
  • Explaining why a 2027 cohort needs a higher FRS than a 2025 sibling.

Examples

Example 1 — turn 55 in 2026, $80,000 set aside. BRS shortfall $30,200; FRS shortfall $140,400.

Example 2 — $220,400 set aside in 2026. FRS met; ERS still $220,400 away.

Example 3 — 2025 cohort BRS. $106,500, not the 2026 figure.

Important notes

Not financial advice. Housing pledges, bequest, and plan choice (Basic / Standard / Escalating) change payouts.

Payout examples are CPF’s 2026 cohort illustrations only.

Sums can change for future cohorts; this table covers 2025–2027 as published.

Frequently asked questions

What is the CPF Full Retirement Sum in 2026?

$220,400 for members who turn 55 in 2026. The Basic Retirement Sum is $110,200. The Enhanced Retirement Sum ceiling in calendar year 2026 is $440,800.

Is ERS fixed when I turn 55?

No. BRS and FRS are cohort-fixed. ERS is a calendar-year ceiling you can top up to later.

Does this predict my CPF LIFE payout?

No. The $950 / $1,780 / $3,440 figures are CPF illustrations for the 2026 cohort Standard Plan. Use CPF’s estimator for a personal quote.

Can I meet BRS with a property pledge?

Often yes, subject to CPF rules. This page only compares cash/balances you enter with the published sums.

How is this different from the CPF contribution calculator?

Contributions split a monthly wage into OA/SA/MA. This tool measures retirement adequacy against BRS/FRS/ERS.

What if I turn 55 after 2027?

CPF has not published those sums here. Do not interpolate; wait for CPF’s announcement.

Are payouts guaranteed at 4%?

No. CPF states the illustration assumptions. Extra interest and plan choice matter.

Is this CPF Board advice?

No. Confirm in my cpf. Figures verified 30 Sep 2026 from CPF’s retirement-sum article.
