Gross salary on an offer letter is not what hits your bank. For most employees in Singapore, the Central Provident Fund takes a slice from wages first. This calculator shows take-home after employee CPF using the contribution rates that apply from 1 January 2026, including the Ordinary Wage ceiling of $8,000 a month.
A 30-year-old earning $4,000 contributes 20% ($800) and takes home $3,200. The employer adds 17% ($680), so total compensation is $4,680 even though cash is $3,200. That gap is why comparing two jobs on headline salary alone is misleading.
Rates depend on age. Up to 55 the employee rate is 20% and the employer 17%. From above 55 to 60 the employee rate is 17%; then 9.5% to 65, 7.5% to 70, and 5% after 70. Employer rates step down on the same birthdays. Wages above $8,000 still pay the extra cash, but CPF stops at the ceiling — a $10,000 salary for someone 30 still contributes as if it were $8,000 ($1,600 employee / $1,360 employer), so take-home is $8,400.
This page is not the existing CPF contribution calculator, which splits OA, SA and MA. Here the question is simpler: how much cash do I keep, and what does the job really cost the employer? Additional wages (bonuses) have a separate annual ceiling and are ignored. Income tax is also ignored — pair this page with the income tax calculator if you need net-of-tax.
Figures run in your browser from the published 2026 bands. Nothing is uploaded. Confirm the live rate on cpf.gov.sg before signing an offer.
எப்படி பயன்படுத்துவது
- Enter monthly ordinary wage before employee CPF.
- Enter age at last birthday so the correct band is used.
- Read take-home, employee CPF, employer CPF, and total compensation.
- If wage exceeds $8,000, a note explains that CPF is capped.
- Open the CPF calculator on this site if you also need the OA/SA/MA split.
முக்கிய சொற்கள் மற்றும் கருத்துகள்
Ordinary wage (OW) is regular monthly pay that attracts CPF, subject to the monthly ceiling.
Employee CPF is deducted from wage and credited to your CPF accounts.
Employer CPF is paid on top of wage. It is part of total compensation but not take-home cash.
OW ceiling is $8,000 a month from 1 January 2026. CPF is not due on ordinary wages above that amount.
Take-home here means wage minus employee CPF, before income tax, GIS, or other deductions.
