ITE Higher Nitec Aggregate Calculator Singapore

Add up the grades for your ITE aggregate type, subtract the CCA bonus and see your net aggregate for the 2-year Higher Nitec (O-Level) or the 3-year Higher Nitec from 2028.

The two routes use different aggregate types and different grade-to-point rules.

Each course uses one aggregate type. Check yours on CourseFinder.

A lower net aggregate is better. The ITE page sets no net aggregate limit: you must sit at least 5 O-Level subjects and meet the minimum entry requirements of the course, and the net aggregate is used for posting.

Course net aggregate ranges change every year with applicants and their choices. Check CourseFinder for the latest ranges and the course’s minimum entry requirements.

Two routes, two sets of rules

ITE posts you using a net aggregate: the grades of the subjects your course's aggregate type uses, converted to points, minus CCA bonus points. A lower net aggregate is better. The ITE pages set no net aggregate limit. What they require is the course's minimum entry requirements, and, for the 2-year Higher Nitec, at least 5 O-Level subjects sat over a maximum of 2 years.

2-year Higher Nitec for O-Level students (2027 JAE)

Each course uses one of three aggregate types. Grades count as A1 = 1 up to F9 = 9.

Aggregate type What is added up
ELB4-A English Language + the best 4 other subjects
ELR1B3-B English + 1 relevant subject (Additional Mathematics, Mathematics or Principles of Accounts) + the best 3 other subjects
ELR2B2-C English + 1 relevant subject (Additional Mathematics or Mathematics) + 1 relevant science or technical subject + the best 2 other subjects

For ELR2B2-C, the second relevant subject comes from this list: Biology, Biotechnology, Chemistry, Combined Science, Computing/Computer Studies, Design & Technology, Electronics/Fundamental of Electronics, Human & Social Biology, Integrated Science, Physics, Engineering Science, Science (Chem, Bio), Science (Phy, Bio), Science (Phy, Chem), Physical Science and Science (Phy, Chem, Bio).

3-year Higher Nitec from 2028

The aggregate type is one of R2B2, R1B3-A, R1B3-B, R1B3-C or B4:

Aggregate type Relevant subject(s) Best subjects
R2B2 R1 English, R2 Mathematics 2
R1B3-A R1 Mathematics 3
R1B3-B R1 Mathematics or Science 3
R1B3-C R1 English 3
B4 none 4

G3 (O-Level), G2 (N(A)-Level) and G1 (N(T)-Level) grades are converted to ITE aggregate points:

ITE points G3 / O-Level G2 / N(A) G1 / N(T)
1 A1 to D7 1 to 3 A
2 E8 4 B
3 9 5 C
4 none 6 D
5 none none E

Every subject in the type except the last best subject needs a grade of G3 E8 or better, G2 5 or better, or G1 D or better; the last best subject has no grade requirement, and B4 has none at all. If you took a subject at two levels, the better (lower) points are used.

CCA bonus points

For graduates of national secondary schools, an Excellent CCA grade (A1 or A2) gives 2 points and a Good grade (B3 to C6) gives 1 point, subtracted from the gross aggregate for posting. Private candidates and current or former students of a JC, MI or polytechnic keep the bonus if they have the grade.

What you cannot use

You cannot use the grades of both Higher Mother Tongue and Mother Tongue of the same language: for example, in ELR2B2-C, if Higher Chinese is B1, Chinese cannot be B2. The Merit and Pass grades of Mother Tongue 'B' Syllabus cannot be used either.

What this guide does not cover

The calculator adds the grades you choose. It does not pick your subjects, check a course's minimum entry requirements or subject-specific requirements, or show a course's net aggregate range, which is on CourseFinder and changes each year.

Common mistakes

  • Mixing the routes. O-Level students use points of 1 to 9; the 3-year Higher Nitec uses ITE points of 1 to 5.
  • Using the wrong relevant subject. ELR2B2-C needs Additional Mathematics or Mathematics for R1 and a science or technical subject for R2.
  • Using both Mother Tongue levels. Only one can count.

Frequently asked questions

How is the ITE net aggregate calculated?

Add the grades (A1 = 1 up to F9 = 9 for the O-Level route) of the subjects your aggregate type uses, then subtract CCA bonus points. A lower net aggregate is better.

Which aggregate types does the 2-year Higher Nitec use?

ELB4-A, ELR1B3-B and ELR2B2-C. Each course uses one of them.

How many CCA bonus points can I get?

An Excellent CCA grade (A1 or A2) gives 2 points and a Good grade (B3 to C6) gives 1 point. They are subtracted from the gross aggregate for posting.

How are G3, G2 and G1 grades converted from 2028?

To ITE aggregate points: G3 A1 to D7, G2 1 to 3 and G1 A are 1 point; G3 E8, G2 4 and G1 B are 2; G3 9, G2 5 and G1 C are 3; G2 6 and G1 D are 4; G1 E is 5.

Is my data sent anywhere?

No. The calculation runs in your browser, so the grades you enter are not sent to a server by this tool.
