关于本新加坡加班费计算器

Overtime in Singapore is not a handshake extra. For employees covered by Part 4 of the Employment Act, work beyond contractual hours (excluding breaks) must be paid at at least 1.5 times the hourly basic rate of pay, within 14 days after the salary period. This calculator applies the Ministry of Manpower formula that payroll teams and employees use to check a payslip.

For a monthly-rated employee the hourly basic rate is (12 × monthly basic salary) ÷ (52 × 44). MOM’s own worked example: $2,600 a month and 2 OT hours, with the non-workman cap, is $13.60 × 1.5 × 2 = $40.80. A $1,200 salary is about $6.29 an hour (rounded to the nearest cent) before the 1.5× multiplier.

Coverage is not universal. Part 4 OT rules generally apply to non-workmen earning up to $2,600 basic a month and workmen earning up to $4,500. A workman is someone whose work is mainly manual labour. Managers, executives, and higher-paid professionals are often outside this statutory OT regime even if they stay late — their contract or company policy may still pay OT, but this page models the Employment Act floor, not a private scheme.

Hours are also capped: including OT you should not work more than 12 hours a day, and OT itself should not exceed 72 hours a month except in MOM-approved cases. This tool flags when hours exceed 72 and still computes pay on the capped hours so you can see the statutory envelope.

Calculations run in your browser from the published formula. Nothing you type is uploaded. Confirm the final figure against your itemised payslip and MOM’s overtime pages.

如何使用

  1. Enter monthly basic salary. Use the basic rate of pay, not take-home after CPF.
  2. Enter OT hours for the month, excluding meal breaks.
  3. Tick workman if your job is mainly manual labour. That raises the salary cap from $2,600 to $4,500.
  4. Read OT pay, hourly basic, and 1.5× hourly. If salary is above the cap, the note explains that MOM uses the cap, not your full salary, for the hourly rate.
  5. Pair with working hours. Use the MOM working hours checker on this site if you also need rest-day and daily-hour limits.

关键术语

Basic rate of pay is salary for work done, excluding overtime payments, bonuses, and certain allowances. MOM uses this for the hourly conversion.

每小时基本薪率 for monthly-rated staff is (12 × monthly basic) / (52 × 44), rounded to the nearest cent.

Overtime is work in excess of contractual hours, excluding breaks. It is paid at 1.5× hourly basic.

Non-workman cap of $2,600 (hourly $13.60) limits the salary used in the OT formula for employees who are not workmen.

Workman cap of $4,500 applies to employees whose work is mainly manual labour.

72-hour monthly limit is the default statutory ceiling on OT hours.

常见用途

  • Checking a retail or F&B payslip after a busy month of OT.
  • Estimating extra pay before agreeing to a 12-hour shift pattern.
  • HR sanity-checking that OT was computed on basic pay, not gross with allowances.
  • Seeing how the $2,600 cap changes OT for a $3,200 non-workman salary.
  • Comparing workman versus non-workman treatment for the same hours.

示例

Example 1 — MOM’s $2,600 case. Non-workman, 2 OT hours. Hourly rate is capped at $13.60. OT hourly is $20.40. Pay is $40.80.

Example 2 — $1,200 basic, 10 OT hours. Hourly = 12 × 1,200 / (52 × 44) = $6.29. OT hourly $9.44. Ten hours → $94.40.

Example 3 — $3,200 non-workman. Statutory OT uses $2,600 / $13.60, not $3,200. Four OT hours → $81.60.

Example 4 — Workman at $4,000. Under the $4,500 cap, hourly = 12 × 4,000 / 2,288 ≈ $20.98, OT hourly ≈ $31.47.

重要说明

Not everyone is covered. Managers, executives, and employees above the salary thresholds may be outside Part 4. Their OT, if any, follows the contract.

Rest-day and public-holiday work use different multipliers (1 day’s salary, 2 days’ salary, extra day’s pay). This page is weekday OT at 1.5× only.

CPF is still due on OT pay for wages that attract CPF. Take-home is OT minus employee CPF, which this page does not subtract.

Not legal advice. Use MOM’s overtime calculator and your payslip as the employment record.

常见问题

How is overtime pay calculated in Singapore?

For monthly-rated employees covered by Part 4, hourly basic rate is (12 × monthly basic) / (52 × 44). 加班费 is that hourly rate × 1.5 × OT hours, subject to salary caps.

What is the MOM example for $2,600 and 2 OT hours?

Non-workman OT is capped at $13.60 an hour. $13.60 × 1.5 × 2 = $40.80.

Who is entitled to overtime pay?

Generally workmen earning up to $4,500 basic a month and other Part 4 employees (non-workmen) earning up to $2,600. Many PMs and executives are excluded.

What is a workman?

Someone whose work is mainly manual labour. Workmen have a higher OT salary cap ($4,500) than non-workmen ($2,600).

Is there a limit on overtime hours?

Yes. Including OT you should not exceed 12 hours a day, and OT should not exceed 72 hours a month except with MOM approval.

Does the $2,600 cap mean I get no OT above that salary?

Non-workmen above $2,600 are generally outside statutory OT. If you are still covered, the hourly rate is computed as if salary were $2,600 ($13.60/hour), not your full salary.

Is OT calculated on take-home pay?

No. Use monthly basic rate of pay, before CPF and after excluding non-basic allowances.

When must OT be paid?

Within 14 days after the last day of the salary period in which the OT was worked.

Does this include rest-day pay?

No. Rest-day and public-holiday work follow separate MOM formulas. This tool is 1.5× overtime only.

Are the numbers stored?

No. The formula is in the page and the calculation runs in your browser.
