关于这个新加坡预告期计算器

Ending a job in Singapore is a date problem, not a vibe. If the contract is silent, the Employment Act section 10 sets a minimum notice from length of service: 1 day if you have served less than 26 weeks, 1 week from 26 weeks to under 2 years, 2 weeks from 2 years to under 5 years, and 4 weeks at 5 years or more. The day notice is given is included, so 1 week given on Monday ends the following Sunday.

Worked example: notice given on 14 September 2026 after 80 weeks of service. That is under 2 years, so statutory notice is 7 days. Counting the 14th, the last day is 20 September 2026.

Most professionals have a contract clause of one month. Enter those calendar days in the contract field and the page uses that figure instead of the Act. Payment in lieu is a separate conversation with HR — this tool only answers which calendar day employment ends if you work the notice.

Probation often has shorter notice in the contract. Still fill the contract box rather than relying on the Act if the letter says 1 day or 1 week. Managers should not assume staff can leave “end of this week” without checking the clause.

Calculations run in the browser. Confirm against the signed contract and MOM’s termination pages. This is not legal advice.

如何使用

  1. Set the date notice is given. Include that day in the count.
  2. Set the employment start date so length of service can be measured.
  3. Optional: enter contract notice in calendar days to override the Act.
  4. Read last day, length, and whether the basis is the Act or the contract.

关键术语与概念

Notice period is the time between written notice and the last day of employment.

Section 10 of the Employment Act supplies default notice when the contract is silent.

Length of service is measured in weeks from start date to the day notice is given.

Day given is included — a 1-day notice given on Friday ends that Friday.

Payment in lieu means ending earlier by paying the unworked days; this page does not compute that sum.

常见用途

  • Checking when you can start a new job after resigning.
  • HR dating a termination letter to the statutory minimum.
  • Comparing a 30-day contract clause with the Act’s 2-week floor.
  • Probation exits that still need a written last day.

示例

Example 1 — 80 weeks, given 14 Sep 2026. Statutory 7 days. Last day 20 Sep 2026.

Example 2 — 3 months’ service, no contract clause. Under 26 weeks → 1 day notice.

Example 3 — 6 years’ service. Statutory 4 weeks (28 days).

Example 4 — contract 30 days given 1 Oct. Last day 30 Oct (day given included).

重要说明

Wrongful dismissal and notice are different issues. Serving notice does not waive other claims.

Garden leave still counts as employment until the last day.

Not legal advice. Read the contract and MOM guidance.

常见问题

What is the statutory notice period in Singapore?

If the contract is silent: 1 day (<26 weeks), 1 week (26 weeks to <2 years), 2 weeks (2 to <5 years), 4 weeks (5 years or more).

Does the day I give notice count?

Yes. MOM counts the day notice is given as day one of the period.

What is the last day if I give notice on 14 September 2026 after 80 weeks?

Seven days including the 14th, so 20 September 2026.

My contract says one month. Do I use the Act?

Use the contract days in this tool. The Act is the default when the contract is silent.

How many weeks is 2 years?

104 weeks. From 104 weeks until 260 weeks the statutory notice is 2 weeks.

Can I leave immediately?

Only if the contract allows, you are dismissed without notice for cause, or both sides agree payment in lieu.

Is a week 5 working days or 7 calendar days?

The Act’s “week” is 7 calendar days unless the contract defines otherwise.

Does probation change the Act?

The Act still applies if the contract is silent. Most probation clauses set a shorter notice — enter that in the contract box.

What if I am on hospitalisation leave?

Notice can still run. Confirm with HR; this page only counts calendar days.

Are dates stored?

No. The calculation runs in your browser.
