Year 1 is the first 12 months from the start date. From year 8 the statutory floor stays at 14 days. Contracts can be more generous.
Use 12 for a full year. MOM’s example: 6 months of year 1 → 4 days (6/12 × 7, nearest day).
If both dates are filled, year of service and completed months are derived from them (Asia/Singapore calendar).
These are Employment Act floors. Many professionals have 14–21 days from day one in the contract — use the higher of contract and the Act. Managers and executives are generally covered today; confirm exclusions with MOM. Not legal advice.
Employees covered by the Employment Act who have served at least three months are entitled to paid annual leave. The statutory table is 7 days in the first year, then one extra day each year until 14 days from the eighth year onward.
If you have not completed a full year, leave is pro-rated by completed months and rounded to the nearest day. MOM’s own example: six months of service in year 1 → 6/12 × 7 = 3.5, which rounds to 4 days. Service under three months scores zero annual leave on this page (you also cannot apply for it yet).
After six months, paid sick leave floors are 14 days outpatient and 60 days hospitalisation (the 60 includes the 14). Those figures are shown for context; they do not convert unused annual leave into sick leave.
Optional start and as-of dates measure completed months in Asia/Singapore. Resignations mid-year typically pay out unused prorated leave — this tool estimates entitlement, not the dollar value of unused days (use salary ÷ 26 or your contract’s formula with HR).
Not legal advice. Contracts, union agreements and the Act interact. Confirm on MOM’s annual-leave page. Tables can change.
- Select year of service or fill both dates.
- Set completed months if the current leave year is incomplete.
- Read statutory days, prorated days, eligibility, and sick-leave floors.
Year of service starts on the employment start date, not 1 January, unless the contract says otherwise.
Proration is months/12 × entitlement, nearest day.
Sick leave here is the Act’s paid medical leave, not annual leave.
- Checking the 7-day floor during probation after month three.
- HR prorating leave when someone resigns in month six.
- Comparing a 21-day contract against the 14-day statutory cap.

Example 4 — year 2, 6 months. round(6/12 × 8) = 4 days.
Not legal advice. Wrongful dismissal and leave encashment need HR or a lawyer.
Public holidays are separate (see the public-holidays tool).
Unused leave may be forfeited or carried forward under contract rules this page does not model.
